‘Museu Virtual dos Embutidos da Madeira’ (Madeira´s virtual wood inlay artefact Museum) presented tomorrow at the Centro Cívico de Santa Maria Maior

It is already tomorrow, around 4:30 pm, that the ‘Museu Virtual dos Embutidos da Madeira’ (Madeira´s virtual wood inlay artefact Museum) will be presented, in the Auditorium of the Centro Cívico de Santa Maria Maior. This is an initiative of the Boa Nova Folklore and Ethnographic Group.

“This project arises after the publication of the two works ‘Os Grandes Mestres Marceneiros- Embutidores da Ilha da Madeira- Escola Industrial António de Augusto Aguiar’, edited in 2021 and 2022, by the Association: Boa Nova Folklore and Ethnographic Group and authored by Danilo José Fernandes. There are editions from the collection ‘O Trilho’, from the Núcleo Museológico de “Arte Popular’ (Museum Centre of “Popular art”), Caderno (notebook) Nº 8 and Caderno notebook) Nº 8, volume II”, that explains the Boa Nova Folklore and Ethnographic Group through a press release.

“After investigating and patenting the inlay works and to biograph their authors, Master Carpenters, and inlayers of Madeira Island, arose the opportunity to create the ‘Museu Virtual dos Embutidos da Madeira’ (Madeira´s virtual wood inlay artefact Museum). The goal of this initiative is to give visibility to these works of art, making them accessible to the general audience, because many of these artefacts belong to the collections of the authors’ families, of the museums, of the collectors or art lovers”, adds the same press release.

The initiative will be attended by the Vice President of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, Rubina Leal; the Secretary for Tourism, Eduardo Jesus; the Director of the Department of Culture of the Funchal City Hall, Sandra Nóbrega (representing the President of the Funchal City Hall, Pedro Calado); the Director of Planning and Resource Management Services, Raquel Brazão de Castro (representing the acting Regional Director for Tourism), among others.
